Welcome to the website of the Barnado's Peterborough Fund Raising Group. We are a group of businesses who network and organise events in order to raise money for Barnardo's because:

"Barnardo's believes in children regardless of their circumstances, gender, race, disability or behaviour. We believe in the abused, the vulnerable, the forgotten and the neglected. We will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child. We do this because we believe that every child deserves the best start in life and the chance to fulfil their potential. We use the knowledge gained from our direct work with children to campaign for better childcare policy and to champion the rights of every child. With the right help, committed support and a little belief, even the most vulnerable children can turn their lives around."

For every £1 given to Barnardo’s, 81p goes directly to helping vulnerable children and their families.

£815 raised at Caribbean Curry & Quiz Night

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the Barnardo's annual Quiz Night on Thursday 29th September at Peterborough Rugby Club.

The warm weather was in keeping with the Caribbean theme of the evening, which included a delicious curry served by resident caterers, Cooks to Cater.

Compere and quiz master for the evening, Phil Elmer, kept the 60 guests who attended entertained with witty banter and some brain-stretching questions. Competition was fierce, but in the end there could only be one winner - Bulley Davey came first, closely pursued by Buckles Solicitors (2nd), Greenwoods Solicitors (3rd) and Rawlinsons Chartered Accountants (4th). Other Peterborough business who entered teams included Cunnington Clark, Fenners Chambers, Hedley Solutions, Lindum Sturgeon, MacIntryre Hudson, Moore Stephens, Opportunity Peterborough, Royal Bank of Scotland, Saffery Champness, Smiths Gore and Westcombe Industries.

A fantastic £815 was raised on the evening, which included a raffle with prizes donated by Peterborough Fundraising Group committee members. All of this will be donated to Barnardo's to support its work with vulnerable children.
